Projects listed below are for the 2016-2017 school year.
These projects (unless indicated) are open to all classrooms worldwide. Though these are "elementary based" - if your classroom wishes to be involved, and you are not PreK-6th, when you register, please choose "OTHER" for your grade level.

O.R.E.O. 2016
Join us for the 17th year of using the cookie to learn a variety of math skills!!
We also will be encouraging simultaneous cookie stacking competitions
between classrooms using skype or google hangouts.

A year long project celebrating different styles of poetry & different poets.
Lesson ideas will be provided as well as a collaborative blog where students can share learning and poetry.

This project is now over.

A great project for problem-solving and team building.
Based on an idea by Peter Skillman, students will work in teams (with a time limit)
to see how high they can build a free standing spaghetti structure with a
marshmallow on top.

This project is open to PreSchool through Third Grade Students. Students will
reinforce (and learn) math skills using the seeds of a pumpkin. Extension ideas
will be provided as well as online opportunities to share their experiences and

Enjoy the holiday season as you share and receive greeting cards from all
over the world. A very fun way to learn mapping and geography skills! This

Join in a fun STEM project where students in grades K - 6th create
marble runs to reinforce math skills!

A brand new project to showcase the book "The Day The Crayons Quit"
You and your class will enjoy reading the story -- and then students
will create their own "the day the _______ quit" and you will bring
all the stories into 1 collection to share w/ other participants!
This project is now over.

PreSchool to Third Grade students will practice graphing, grouping, counting,
and more as they use the marshmallow shapes in a box of Lucky Charms.
Classrooms are also encouraged to extend this project with Skype.

Join with classes around N. Ameria & the world as we celebrate the
Artist: Kandinsky -- and create a collaborative piece of art!

This was my first time participating in the project and what a great project!!!  I loved doing this with my kindergarten class.  We had so many fun conversations about all the different places are cards were from.  So excited to participate next year!
