Standards (NETS•S) and Performance Indicators for
Students
1. Creativity and Innovation
Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge,
and develop innovative products and processes
using technology. Students:
a. apply existing knowledge to generate new ideas, products,
or processes. 
2. Communication and Collaboration
Students use digital media and environments to communicate
and work collaboratively, including at a distance,
to support individual learning and contribute to the
learning of others. Students:
a. interact, collaborate, and publish with peers, experts,
or others employing a variety of digital environments
and media.

First Grade 
Math (Statistics, Data Analysis, and Probability)

represent, and compare data by category on simple graphs
and charts:
1.1 Sort objects and data by common attributes and describe
the categories.
1.2 Represent and compare data (e.g., largest, smallest,
most often, least often) by using pictures, bar graphs,
tally charts, and picture graphs

Writing Strategies
Students write clear and coherent sentences and paragraphs
that develop a central idea. Their writing shows they
consider the audience and purpose. Students progress
through the stages of the writing process (e.g., prewriting,
drafting, revising, editing successive versions).

Scientific progress is made by asking meaningful questions
and conducting careful investigations. As a basis for
understanding this concept and addressing the content
in the other three strands, students should develop
their own questions and perform investigations. Students
will:
a. Draw pictures that portray some features of the thing
being described.
b. Record observations and data with pictures, numbers,
or written statements.
c. Record observations on a bar graph. 
Second Grade 
Math (Mathematical Reasoning)

2.1 Defend the reasoning used and justify the procedures
selected.
2.2 Make precise calculations and check the validity
of the results in the context of the problem. 
Language Arts (Writing Applications) 
Students
write compositions that describe and explain familiar
objects, events, and experiences. Student writing demonstrates
a command of standard American English and the drafting,
research, and organizational strategies outlined in
Writing Standard 1.0. 
Science (Investigation & Experimentation)

and conducting careful investigations. As a basis for
understanding this concept and addressing the content
in the other three strands, students should develop

b. Measure length, weight, temperature, and liquid volume
with appropriate tools and express those measurements
in standard metric system units

1.1 Represent relationships of quantities in the form
of mathematical expressions, equations, or inequalities.

d. Predict the outcome of a simple investigation and
compare the result with the prediction.
e. Collect data in an investigation and analyze those
data to develop a logical conclusion.
