It is hard to believe, but the O.R.E.O. (our really exciting online-project) will start its 11th year of registration this upcoming week.
Each year — it gains in popularity and teachers are creating worksheets, extending ideas, making videos, and more.
Not to boast — but a teacher on the ProjectsByJen Ning said “I have done this project for 6 years!!!!! My classes still come back to me and tell me how much they loved it.”
One thing that we will be adding this year will be the opportunity for teachers and students to share their O.R.E.O. experience via voice thread.
I have to admit, that in the past my projects have been very easy for a teacher to keep within their own classroom and though I promote collaboration, I have not given a lot of opportunity or simple ways for people to share this project.
Well, this year….smiles, that is going to change.
The NING has an O.R.E.O. group with is growing with ideas and Voice Thread will be showcased and open to any teacher/classroom which wishes to share. Actually, I might need to make several if we have the 1,000 classrooms which I anticipate this year.
It is exciting for me to share with teachers tools which they can EASILY use within their classrooms. And voice thread — with the ease of adding images and comments — I think will work well for sharing what people are doing in their classrooms with this project!!
I am excited and ready for O.R.E.O. to start. I hope with these new opportunities to share ideas, the project will end up being one of our best.

ps: and in total disclosure — though I was going to post about O.R.E.O. anyway (grins) when I heard there was an opportunity to perhaps win a classroom account at VoiceThread by writing a post, I did take opportunity of that. However, if I do win, I will not keep the account but award it to one of our participants. My classroom — is YOU and YOUR students — and it can exist on the voice thread account I already possess. So — good luck to you all in perhaps winning a classroom account.
