In 2006 — after attending the NECC/ISTE conference, I decided to venture into the world of podcasting — (of course, dragging some people along with me) and began hosting the Women of Web 2.0 podcast at EdTechTalk. (http://edtechtalk.com/search/node/women%20of%20web) I am eternally grateful for the conversations that we had during the WOW2 podcasts – I learned a great deal. A GREAT DEAL!!
But then I walked away — for a lot of reasons. Some mature and thought out, some immature and emotional. It was a necessary walk away but somethings were handled poorly and for that, I was wrong, and I am sorry.
Jump ahead to December 31, 2011. As I was ending my year and gearing up for a new year….and after prayer and wise counsel and pros/cons, I decided to make some changes in my life.
I moved to a new home which I could afford and even save a bit of money rather than living from paycheck to paycheck.
I started Weight Watchers (down 35.2 so far)
And I started thinking about podcasting again.
I looked at several venues of which to host the podcast – and decided to host at EdReach. (http://edreach.us/) Because this is NOT going to be a live show — with an audience — there is going to be a bit more flexibility in being able to record conversations ANY TIME and ANY WHERE. Now please don’t read that wrong — I admit 100% having a weekly show with a live audience was GREAT….but time zones did limit the possibilities of some conversations. And — I am learning how to record, edit, add music, convert, compress, and upload a podcast. (whew)
But — it took me until July 17th to honor my commitment to begin podcasting again. And to be honest, my tummy had butterflies all day on Tuesday. I was 100% scared. But I also had invited John Pederson to be my first guest….so I was confident that the conversation would flow.
So — I invite you to listen to my FIRST podcast hosted at EdReach.us. The show will be called THE BACK CHANNEL and each week (or every other — still not sure) I will have a Tweet of the Week, A Blog Post to check out, Something I saw on Facebook, and a Pinterest to see. And then – my favorite part…..I will interview someone. Well, not really interview — smiles — more like, each week I will prepare 3 questions to ask my guest. And then let the conversation go from there.
I hope you enjoy this new (return) venture in my life -
And if you want to be a guest, just let me know.
