As today winds down, I stop and reflect on what I am thankful for:
1. I am thankful that I live in a country that allows me freedoms of so many things on so many levels. I am thankful I can worship God without any fear and share of my faith, again with no fear. I am thankful that I can travel from state to state without papers to allow me to do so. I am thankful that I can vote. I am thankful to call myself an American.
2. I am thankful that I have a roof over my head, a car that works, and a job to go to. I am thankful that I have 4 pillows on my bed and extra blankets if I need them. I am thankful that I have hot and cold running water. I am thankful that I have drinkable water. I am thankful that I have electricity and 2 ceiling fans. I am thankful that there is food in the fridge and grocery stores with stocked shelves nearby. I am thankful I can buy milk any time I wish. I am thankful that I have enough stuff that even if I gave things away, I would never be lacking.
3. I am thankful that I was able to travel in 2008. Both physically to Philadelphia, Illinois, Wisconsin…..as well as several locations in California and also virtually to locations ALL over the world. I am thankful that I got to see good friends and was able to make new friends. I am thankful that I was able to see Independence Hall, Lake Michigan, daffodils, red robins, snow and ice, and an unbelievable sunset this past Monday. I am thankful to conferences that invite me to speak and friends that come to hear my ideas. I am thankful to see people who make me laugh, smile, and make me think.
4. I am thankful for my network who accepts me where I am yet urges me to grow. I am thankful for friends who Direct Messge me with notes of appreciation, thanks, and little bursts of smiles. I am thankful for emails from teachers who participate in projects who really want their classrooms to be a better environment for their students. I am thankful that the people behind DELICIOUS, PBWIKI, GMAIL, FIREFOX, VOICETHREAD, TWITTER, SKYPE provide their services to me for free. (well, the cost of an email).
5. I am thankful to God for putting me where I am exactly to be to fit within His plan. I thank Him for providing when I could not see provision and giving light when things seemed so dark. For giving me direct answers when necessary and saying “JEN, be still” when He knows I need to wait. For giving me the desires of my heart but showing me that HIS desires are often much more than I could ever have seen. For putting inside of me a spirit that loves to laugh, help, and cry. I am thankful that HE sees the big picture and that HE loves me with a love I cannot understand.
6. And I am thankful for you, my readers, who come back faithfully (or not)………comment (or not)………..agree (or not)………….enjoy my thoughts (or not)………….but who have come to read what I have to say.
What are you thankful for today?
Please share.
Jen

Jen,
Thanks for saying so well the things that I and so many people think in our hearts. Glad you are a part of my PLN and I am able to communicate with you so well. I appreciate you and all you do for my network and those you come in contact.
Paul
Jen,
I just happened to stop by here on my way to write my own post about giving thanks. Fortunately, I didn’t read yours first. You said it all. One of the things I forgot to add was how thankful I am for all the sharing that goes on with the online PLN. Thank you for all that you do.
